We are on the lookout...

For 1-2 more Educators for our Shimmerz Education team!

If you feel comfortable in front of a video camera, and you are passionate about your artwork, then maybe you should be teaching and showing others how to put paint and mists to creative work! :)  We are looking for artists who will commit to posting one video per month, and who love working with, and promoting all the amazing products that Shimmerz offers.

Here's what you need to do:
We'd like to see what you can do with paints and mists,
so email us at shimmerzcall@live.com with the following:

1)  Your resume and blog address.
2)  A 4 minute or less video that shows you working with
paints and or mists.
3)  Your contact information.

Who will our next artists be? We cannot wait to see!

Trash? I think not.

I LOVE my trash bags. Yep. I buy myself a box, and I don't share them with my husband for his regular to-do chore around the house. Why, you ask? Because trash bags are most definitely not just for gathering the garbage! You can make layout backgrounds like this one....

or this one...

or create beautiful shimmery effects in patterns like this...

by using this VERY simple technique!

I hope you have enjoyed this and will put your garbage bags to good use... I mean, really.... :)
xx Heidi

Welcome to Shimmerz Ed Guest: Ronda Palazzari

We are beyond excited that Ronda Palazzari is guesting for us this month! Ronda is an amazing artist and we are lucky to have her here today!

My name is Ronda Palazzari and I live in the burbs of Denver with my two teens. My hubby is currently residing in Qatar, so we are a global family. I’ve been
artistic all of my life, but I didn’t start scrapping until about 1995. It seemed the perfect fit for me after the birth of my kids, considering my love of
print, photos, and paper. I love being a mixed media artist and enjoy pushing the boundaries of scrapbooking. I am a technique girl who loves to get messy,
especially with paints & inks. Some of my proudest scrapbook moments are being a named a Memory Makers Master, becoming part of the Maya Road, Purple Onion,
and Cocoa Daisy Design Teams. I have also been blessed in being published in various magazines, Memory Makers, Scrapbook Trends, Artful Blogger as well as
some idea books.

What Ronda failed to mention is her new book! Congratulations Ronda!

Enjoy her video!

Thank you so much Ronda for taking time out of your busy schedule to guest for us!

Hiya!

Louise here with a quick layout using the gorgeous new Shimmerz Coloringz and Shimmeringz. You'll have to excuse the lack of introduction and audio (although there's still a great music track!) but my camera was having a bad day... I'll kick it before my next video ;)

So for this one I used the gorgeous Coloringz in My Bleeding Heart (over red paper it adds a deeper, richer hue), and Anchors Away (over these other colours gives a dense, dark shadow look). Also I sprayed flowers with the My Bleeding Heart and the Goldie Lox Shimmeringz - just gorgeous!!

Back soon with a very cool technique for using this new range, until then don't forget to stock up over at www.shimmerzpaints.com

A Shimmering Mini-Album

Punky Sprouts, the maker of my favorite style of mini-albums, recently sponsored the Shimmerz Education Team. I was the lucky recipient of a Junk in my Punk album and I had a blast with it!

As you may know, I recently had my 6th sweet baby: Wyatt Grant. My album is dedicated to his first few weeks of life. It is a special project that I hold dear to my heart.

In my video, I offer tips on creating an interesting mixed-media mini-album as well as a beautiful background watercolor technique using Shimmerz paints and mists.

Grab a cup of hot chocolate (take a few sips for me!) and enjoy!

xoxo

Shimmerz Swatch Book

Hey there. I made myself this little swatch book a while back to help me keep track of all my Shimmerz Paints.  I love it- and it really helps me match my Shimmerz Colours so much easier.  I made you a quick video showing you how I did this.

Hope you enjoyed watching........

FABRIC HEART ART with Shimmerz Spritz!

Lucky me, I get the first post in February, so I can wish you all a splendid month filled with candy hearts and hugs, and lots of hugs and kisses from loved ones.  This month, Bethany gave us a loose theme of "HEART", and it was up to us to use it or not.  I used it.  I RAN with it!  This project is ALL HEART!

Do you have a crafty daughter, a scrapbooker, yourself perhaps who needs some LOVE this February?  Have a bit of time to sit down and create ART FROM THE HEART?

This video tutorial takes you through creating a FABRIC HEART with Shimmerz and stamps, then creating a canvas/Gesso background for your heart to really shine.

This project is also great for using up odds and ends of stash!  It's a CRAFTY project for a CRAFTY chick!  PS: Heidi K. - see that wing?  I believe it came from your stash!  Thanks!!!

Hope you enjoy!
